Step 1: Delete the Imported Templates
- Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Cloud Templates tab.
- Locate the specific templates you wish to remove from the list.
- Hover over the template or check the box next to its name. A «Delete» or trash can icon option should appear.
- Click the delete option and confirm the action when prompted.
Step 2: Ensure Templates are Unassigned
If any posts, pages, or sections (like headers, footers, or categories) are still assigned to the template you just deleted, they will revert to a default or potentially broken state.
- For global settings: Go to Newspaper > Theme Panel and check the settings for Post Settings, Category Settings, etc., to ensure they are set to «From Panel» or a different existing template.
- For individual posts/pages: Edit the specific page or post, scroll to the Post Settings tab, and select a different template from the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Prevent Indexing (Optional)
If your goal is to stop search engines from indexing certain pages while they are under construction or using a default layout, you should remove any «noindex» meta tags after the site is ready to be public. Conversely, if you want to prevent indexing temporarily during development, you may add these tags within the template’s settings, which can often be found in a «Meta Settings» or SEO section within the page builder (like tagDiv Composer).
